Sara & Jeff are my kind of people. Smart, beautiful and they share a love for traveling around the world. They also chose to wed at one of my favorite wedding venues in Denver, The Brown Palace Hotel. They wanted a place that was beautiful and elegant and made one feel like they were stepping back in time. As a photographer the Brown Palace is beautiful to shoot in cause there’s so many gorgeously decorated interior spaces to chose from. My team and I made sure to use our professional photography  lights to highlight Sara and Jeff from the moody hotel backgrounds and bring out the décor in the environment.
Sara¬†wanted the first look to happen on the grand staircase by the hotel lobby. It was her favorite part of the wedding, ‚ÄúI was so nervous and excited to see Jeff that I had butterflies in my stomach.‚ÄĚ It all took place in front of family members who were waiting with the cameras, along with a room full of hotel guests having afternoon tea. We made sure to light Sara going down the staircase with two flashes since it was in a dark area. Otherwise it would not of worked and I wanted to make sure we supported her vision for this moment. The shot of her going down the steps to meet Jeff ended up being on of the my favorites from the day.
The wedding was small so the ceremony was held in the Brown Palace Club room which is perfect for a group that size. Candles lined the aisle and peach colored bows were placed on every chair. A rose gold and peach palette were used throughout the wedding, which would also be the leather color chosen for their wedding album. Many of the gifts and decorations were purchased off of ETSY which Sara swears by and many of my other brides for that matter. That site really does have everything for a wedding!
After the ceremony we photographed them outside by a nearby church. If weather permits I like photographing the couple both inside the venue and outside so that their wedding album has  variety. I have my 2nd shooter capture moments in natural light with a long lens which compliments my photos which tend to be further away and illuminated with our photo lights.
I asked Sara if she had any advice for future brides.
‚ÄúI would highly recommend a small wedding. We had a total of 45 wedding guests and there was still not enough time to talk long with all of them. A small wedding feels intimate and special!‚ÄĚ
